Why RFQ360
Why work with RFQ360
What you gain when you entrust Supplier Development and Business Development to RFQ360:
1. Capacity exactly when you need it
- A new project, an urgent enquiry or a supplier failure will not wait until you hire a new buyer. I take over market research, the RFQ and communication with suppliers – and you only pay for the service you need.
2. I understand engineering, not just purchasing
- More than 20 years of experience in automotive Tier-1 and custom engineering manufacturing. Drawings, technologies, workshop capacities and lead times need no explaining – that is why I only approach companies that can realistically handle the enquiry.
3. Two perspectives in one partner
- I know both the purchasing and the sales side. When looking for suppliers, I know how a salesperson thinks; when looking for customers, I know what a buyer needs. This makes my negotiations faster and more precise.
4. Output you can base a decision on
- Not a spreadsheet without context, but a comparison of prices, lead times and terms with comments on risks and a clear recommendation – useful for purchasing, sales and management alike.
What it can look like in practice
Second source for a welded assembly
Situation: An engineering company has a single supplier of welded frames (S355, approx. 800 kg/pc) and deliveries are repeatedly late.
Approach: I approach 9 EN 1090 certified suppliers in SK/CZ; 5 submit a quotation and 2 pass the technical audit.
Result: a second supplier nominated, price 8% lower, lead time reduced from 12 to 7 weeks.
A new customer for a welded structures manufacturer
Situation: A manufacturer has spare welding and machining capacity and is looking for new customers.
Approach: I identify 25 relevant OEMs in SK/CZ, approach 12 of them and arrange 4 meetings.
Result: 2 RFQs, one of which becomes an 18-month series order.
Model examples illustrate how the cooperation works. The actual result always depends on the specific brief and the market situation.
What I do
Two pillars: purchasing and sales
I provide engineering manufacturers with external support in two areas – I help develop your supplier base and win new customers at the same time. Wherever companies lack time, capacity or market insight.
Pillar 1 — Supplier Development
- I find and vet suitable suppliers, manage the RFQ and prepare a comparison of quotations with a recommendation. The aim is lower dependence on a single source and better commercial terms.
- - search for and vetting of suppliers in SK/CZ, and in other CEE countries on request
- - RFQ preparation and management, including follow-up
- - comparison of prices, lead times and terms
- - second source / dual source and supplier localisation
- - tracking and reporting of open enquiries
Pillar 2 — Business Development
- I identify companies that match your manufacturing focus and help open communication up to the first RFQ. The aim is not a list of contacts, but established communication with relevant companies.
- - identification of potential customers and contacts
- - preparation of the first approach and value proposition
- - coordination of NDAs and next steps
- - support of the business case up to the RFQ stage
Commodities and technologies
Other commodities on request.
Who it is for
- For manufacturing, technical and project-oriented engineering companies that:
- - are looking for new suppliers or a second source,
- - want to verify market prices and improve purchasing terms,
- - want to win new customers systematically,
- - lack the in-house capacity to handle the full RFQ process.
How I work
A clear process from brief to result
Whether you are looking for suppliers or new customers, the process is equally transparent – at every stage you know where things stand, what is needed from you and what output you will receive.
1. Brief
- Together we clarify what you need – the subject of the enquiry, technical requirements, volumes and deadlines, or the target segment and type of customer. We agree on scope, output and price.
2. Market analysis
- I review the market and select companies with a realistic chance of success – suppliers by technology, capacity and reliability, customers by your manufacturing focus. You are also welcome to nominate the companies for the RFQ yourself.
3. Outreach and communication
- I prepare the RFQ or the first business approach, communicate with the market and handle follow-up questions, follow-ups and NDAs. You do not have to chase dozens of emails.
4. Evaluation
- I compare quotations or business potential – prices, lead times, terms and risks. With commentary, not just in a table.
5. Recommendation and next step
- You receive a clear output for decision-making or negotiation. If needed, I continue with negotiations, additional suppliers or preparing a business case for an RFQ.
What you get at the end
- - an overview of the suppliers or potential customers approached
- - a comparison of quotations or an assessment of business potential
- - commentary on prices, lead times, terms and risks
- - a recommendation on next steps
Sample output
| Supplier A | Supplier B | Supplier C | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Country | SK | CZ | SK |
| Price / pc | 4 850 € | 4 420 € | 4 690 € |
| Lead time | 6 weeks | 10 weeks | 7 weeks |
| Payment terms | 60 days | 30 days | 45 days |
| EN 1090 / ISO 3834 | yes / yes | yes / no | yes / yes |
| Risk | low | medium | low |
Comment: Supplier B is the cheapest, but has no ISO 3834 certification and its lead time does not cover the planned ramp-up. Supplier C offers a balanced price, the required certifications and capacity to increase volume.
Recommendation: Supplier C – verify a first article (FAI) before nomination and agree pricing for volumes above 60 pcs/year.
This is a simplified sample for presentation purposes. The required output – its scope, format and content – is always set by agreement with you.

About me
Who is behind RFQ360
My name is Marian Koľ and I am the founder of RFQ360. For more than 20 years I have worked in purchasing, supplier development and sales – from automotive Tier-1 suppliers to custom manufacturing of welded structures and machining.
I have led purchasing teams of up to 23 buyers across two manufacturing plants, with an annual purchasing volume of €30–35 million and year-on-year savings of 4–6%. I have worked on projects for VW, Škoda, BMW, PSA and Renault, including new model launches – from RFQ through supplier nomination to series production.
Throughout my career I have been on both the buyer's and the supplier's side, and I have repeatedly seen good business opportunities lost for lack of time and capacity. I founded RFQ360 so that engineering companies can draw on multinational-corporation experience exactly when they need it – without the cost of an in-house department.

- In that case, I will let you know straight away and we will agree on the next steps together – for example extending the search, adjusting the brief or ending the engagement. Every step is always taken only at your request.
Do you guarantee results?
- I cannot guarantee results – the final decision on any order always rests with the customer and the supplier. What I provide are services that help you achieve results: finding and approaching suppliers or customers and support throughout the RFQ process.
